Strange News!

I'm sorry for this odd request because it might get to you too urgent but it's because of the situation of things right now.

I'm with family on holiday in Manila,Philippines I know I didn't mention anything about it to you but we are in trouble, we were mugged last night in an alley by a gang of thugs on our way back from shopping, one of them had a knife poking my neck for almost two minutes and everything we had on us including my cell phone, credit cards were all stolen, quite honestly it was beyond a dreadful experience for us but looking on the bright side we weren't seriously hurt or injured and we are still alive so that is whats important. I've reported to the cops here and canceled all our cards, it appeared I had acted quickly enough or they almost would have succeeded in cleaning out my bank account. I'm really having some difficulties clearing our hotel bills and also need to pick up a voucher ticket at the counter for us to catch a flight back home as soon as possible.

All we need right now is $1,450 but anything you can spare pending when we get things straighten out will be appreciated. You can get it across via western union, check www.westernunion.com for a local WU outlet that is close to you and use my below details to complete the transfer:

Here's the details:
Name: Cynthia VanBiene
Location: Manila, Philippines
Amount: $1,450

Let me know as soon as you are heading out to the western union outlet. You will have to get back to us with the WU confirmation number once you have it done for us. So glad you could help, we owe you one!

Thanks,
Cynthia.

Dream big - It's your Vacation

There are two ways to go on vacation: plan it or be spontaneous. May people plan their vacation because they have some control what will happen on their vacation. But actually spontaneous vacations can be just as fun if not better.  Every vacation has some planning, like are you going to take the car or fly or  go by train? But once the transportation has been decided, everything else can be simple not complicated. Unless you go somewhere and there are no accommodations because of the festival or conference in town, then you could be in trouble because you were being spontaneous.
So, sometimes, planning ahead for your dream vacation is a good thing. Or why not be a planner to get the vacation details straight then be spontaneous once you arrive to your destination? There are many places to see, just figure out what kind vacation you, want and go for it!

Shopping Spree

Mexico, especially small villages or towns ave the best shopping because you can always haggle the prices. There are usually ma and pa shops, local shops, street fairs and markets. The more commercialized the  shop looks, the less chance of making a deal. Haggling the shop clerk is a delicate process. The shop clerks expect a bit of bargaining, but they will always give you a steep price at the beginning especially if they know you are American. Mexicans have the stereotype that you are rich because you are Americans or white. Who would not believe that, you are vacationing in their little town, right? It's a good assumption.
So, you need to make it an art to start the haggling process. Make sure it's something you really want to buy, then offer a price dramatically low. You will most likely not get it at the price you offered, they will work on getting you to  a higher price but lower then their original offer. Hopefully, after a few back forth bantering, you both will come to a price you agree on. Maybe it will be higher then you wanted to pay but considerably lower then the first price offered by the clerk.

Vacation Rental Agreement

Always very important to read the whole contract or rental agreement. There might be clauses in there you might not want or need to negotiate. Some contracts will not allow negotiations. By reading the compete contract this allows time for discussions. Maybe you would like to add something. There is always room for for negotiations. And if they do not allow negotiating then walk away. The customer should be top priority for any business especially vacation rentals. If they don't work  with you to make your dream vacation, walk away, it's not worth the struggle. If they are not flexible, then most likely they are not worth your time or money. Always get what you want, its your vacation, it should be perfect.

Child Proof

Another family vacation but this time you have decided to rent a vacation home. Make sure you do your research and choose a home that is child proof. Not meaning tabs holding the cupboards shut but maybe don't choose a elegant loft. Many vacation homes are child proof and offer so much more for the whole family. If you have older kids, make sure you ask for a 2-story home or a large home, so the teens feel like they can relax, and not keep everyone awake, if they want to play music or watch a movie. Most vacation homes these days offer Xbox or Wii video games, big inch smart televisions, personal computers, or swimming pools.

Or what if you have small children, the home could have a playroom full of toys, or kiddie pool outside, so you don't have to bring your own from home. Maybe request a trampoline, or bikes, or balls, or basketball hoop. A vacation rental should be easy and relaxing, and have everything you desire so you are not stressed at all. And if it's easy to bring the toys for inside and out, because you know your kids will be happier than do that instead and make sure the home has room for extra stuff.

Renter's Insurance

Do you know it's smart to purchase renters insurance even if you are renting a vacation rental for a couple of weeks? You never know what could or might happen during your stay. Wouldn't you rather have the insurance pay for any damages, instead of you? Many people don't think of purchasing renters insurance, and when a mishap happens the property manager is most likely wont pay for the damages. It's on your head.
Most properties sell insurance,  or give it as an option, be smart and get some or it's written in their contract that you have to renters insurance. Usually insurance is not too expensive, but in the wrong run it's better to be safe then sorry. Renters insurance covers damages, vandalism, and stolen goods. The property already has insurance on the property itself. What's inside is what the property owners don't want to deal with.

Customer Care

Customer care is so important when you know a vacation rental business. It works both ways, if the property vacation rentals care for their clients who are renting, then most likely the clients will care for the rentals. Every business wants the ideal for their clients, if they don't then they'll never get ahead. Customers are the livelihood of any company. So, if the business takes care of the client then most likely the client will talk to their friends and family, and will say how wonderful their vacation rental was.

It's really a domino affect. If you care for the client, then the client will take care of finding you more clients. They always say - as long as the customer is happy, they will talk good things about the product or service. However, if the customer is disappointed with the product or service, oh no you better watch out because they will tell anyone that will listen of the bad service or product. So, all that marketing you do, make sure your business stands behind the word or slogan, because if you don't you will pay in the long run.

Good customer service is always taking care of any problems guests are having right away,on  the same day. As long as the property manager goes out of their way to accommodate the guests, the guests will leave their vacation with good memories.
